The latest Beta and Dev builds are also available. Google Chrome Portable is a web browser that runs web pages and applications quickly. A new version of Google Chrome Portable Stable has been released. I have found all Notion versions to simply have improved with time.Ĭhromebooks used for tests: Lenovo Yoga Chromebook C630, running Chrome OS version. Notion is so much more than a note-taking app and I have come to use it now for all my blog post tracking (replacing my previous Google Sheets) and for tracking college completion (basically a big checklist). Notion.so (the website version) is my go-to version used, to be clear, but I do regularly use the app on my Samsung mobile. It has proved immensely useful and I have only increased my usage of it–commonly keeping a tab open for it across my devices. In fact, it is quickly becoming my central note-taking application and it can do so much more than that! I didn’t have any of the latency issues with this as I did in the app.Įach of the images in this post is from each version and is using dark mode – my favorite. Overall, it is much the same as the app though the left-side navigation is laid out a little differently. This is what I found too when I tested it. This one should run optimally regardless of the device you use as it is rendered in the browser and therefore doesn’t depend on how well an app runs on Chromebook. Personally, I opt for the browser for consistency across my devices though I currently still have the app around. If that doesn’t instill enough confidence for you, then use the browser version on your Chromebook. This option seems to be missing in the app. In the browser, you can move the top image if you want your banner to fixate on a different part of the image. It wasn’t until I went to the browser version that I realized the banner was actually larger images as you only get to see a narrow view. With all that said, the app did give me clear latency issues – especially involving the loading of banners, icons, and the like. Simply, hold, drag and drop pages and subpages where you want them in your hierarchy. Overall, the program is rather intuitive to use. Notion effectively treats everything as part of 1 giant notebook but you can easily subdivide it as if it were multiple with many subpages.Īdding personalized spacing to outlines sticks – a boon to me as I often do things out of the norm in the pre-programmed outline formats. Navigation is largely through the left-side menu and hierarchy. This was something that occurred after launching for the first time and could not replicate later.Īs I continued to explore the app, I was pleased to find a dark mode in the app and this is available in their browser version as well. Then things began to respond to my clicks without a problem. However, upon tapping on the upper left menu, this all began to change. There are versions of the application for Mac and Windows and it can also be accessed via a browser (I comment on this one below).Īt first, things weren’t responding to my trackpad clicks. This version does install to Chromebook and you can log in with Google making that process all the easier. Android Version The left-side menu has been expanded so that you can see its layout.
